Snow globes symbolize a sort of sweetness and hope that comes with Christmastime. Never mind that Richard Gere uses one as a murder weapon in Unfaithful. When December rolls around, those water-filled glass spheres take on an almost mythic quality, as an inspirational plot driver in Elf, and a confirmation of the jolly red gift giver’s existence in The Santa Clause.

Standing in the controlled, chilly precipitation during Tempe Marketplace’s Snow What Fun will be a little like being inside a personal snow globe. It just might make that last minute shopping trip seem a little merrier (and more manageable).

Saturdays, 7 & 8 p.m. Starts: Dec. 17. Continues through Dec. 24, 2011
