Ernest Hemingway famously sought depth and heartbreak in the extreme brevity of a six-word story by penning, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

The three-year-old fest offers proof that there's much more to this North Valley burg than housing the Fortress of Solitude of growling Ruff Rider rapper DMX. The word-nerd love will feature authors competing for a Coyote Award for their pen-as-swordmanship, so consider the reading a sneak preview.
