Its no wonder the New York Times gave animated filmmaker Brent Green props, saying his films are some of the most original animations we have seen in years. And it should come as little surprise that Filmmaker magazine dubbed the twentysomething one of the top 25 newcomers to the independent film scene.
Some of the buzz can be attributed to Greens live avant-garde screenings, which feature a dude screaming narrations like a possessed evangelist while musicians belt out spontaneous riffs, licks, and drum wallops. Green will present his hand-painted DVD-Rs and screen his lowbrow animated treasures while Michael Krassner of Boxhead Ensemble plays an improvised music soundtrack.
