It's been almost 13 years since a Star Wars movie was released in May, once the hotbed for box-office juggernauts and tentpoles. Now, films can survive all year long, which was made evident by Star Wars: The Force Awakens' record-destroying box office in December 2015. However, this summer is different, as Star Wars is returning to megaplexes once again with Solo: A Star Wars Story on May 25. This should give fans even more to celebrate this May the Fourth, the unofficial Star Wars Day based on the film series' famous well wishes: "May the Force be with you."

Here are a few Star Wars-related celebration happening around the Valley on Friday, May 4.

It's free to get in, but be sure to bring some coins to enjoy the barcade's 40 classic games and 14 beers on tap.
