Here's Your Guide to December Third Friday in Phoenix

There’s good news this week, as the pace of fresh exhibitions slows a bit for the holidays. It means you’ll encounter fewer crowds, and have more time to really connect with artists. Here’s a look at fresh exhibits happening on Third Friday, along with other art offerings you might want to explore as well.

Must-see exhibits

“Flora, Fauna & The Feminine Form”
The Hive gallery is showing works by Tara Sharpe, who “seeks to add a new depiction of feminine beauty independent of current times and events,” complete with its own mythology. You’ve likely seen her murals around town, but now you can take a deeper dive into her larger body of work. Friday’s opening reception happens from 7 to 10 p.m. Learn more on Facebook event page.

“All Eyes”
The Eye Lounge artist collective is presenting a group show featuring works in diverse media by Eye Lounge artists, including its newest members. Participating artists include Samantha Lyn Aasen, Kit Abate, Kat Davis, Gina DeGideo, Mikey Foster Estes, Tess Mosko Scherer, Brianna Noble, Elizabeth Odiorne, Cyd Peroni, and Kim Sweet. “Low Data”
Modified Arts is showing works by seven artists who explore “the digital and physical wasteland of junk media” in contemporary life. Participating artists include Emily Irwin, John McVay, Brandon Meged, Miguel Monzón, Sam Pesqueira, Ethan Roads, and Emily Sarten. SEED film screening
Check out SEED: The Untold Story, a film screening happening in conjunction with the “Tikkun Olam 3” exhibition curated by artist and seed-saver Joan Baron. Third Friday hours at the Cutler-Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center are 6 to 9 p.m. The film screening starts at 630 p.m., and will be followed by a Q & A. Holiday boutique
Find last-minute holiday gifts at Warehouse 1005 in Roosevelt Row, where the boutique works by Art Awakenings artists working in several media, including jewelry, ceramics, and painting. Holiday event
