It's probably right about time to scurry on down to House of Tricks before the popular Tempe dining spot closes for a nearly month-long summer hiatus beginning June 30. The reason? Happy hour at House of Tricks is out of sight. Choose from refreshing craft cocktails and cold local brews to drink, but be sure to try out the cracker jack while you're there too.
In terms of bar snacks, this dish is a definite stand-out in the category. First of all, it's only $4 for your very own vintage-looking red and blue striped bag, which is a steal once you find out what sets this cracker jack apart.
Sure, it has crunchy popcorn covered in rich, buttery caramel, but that's only half of the fun. Smoky, salty Tender Belly bacon adds an extra flavor element to the package, and cashews provide a more adult nutty kick than the traditional cracker jack peanuts. All of those indulgent flavors make for a refined take on a classic kiddy treat, perfect for munching on with friends between sips of beer.
