Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of New Times free.
Rise and shine, Coronado.
In just a few weeks you'll be able to wake up to the sweet smell of coffee roasting in your neighborhood.
If you remember the old Drip coffee shop location and Toast Boutique, you'll be able to find Perc Up Café. Three women, who live in the Coronado neighborhood, (Linda Cohen, Jennifer Lancaster, Kathy Lyman) have combined their energy, resources and commitment to the community together to fulfill your coffee needs from 6 am to 9 pm, daily.
All the coffee will be roasted in house, and the beans themselves are purchased from women growers in Peru as part of the Café Femenino Coffee Project. Click through to learn more, but the general idea is women helping women helping women. These Coronado ladies are buying from female growers and donating a portion of every sale to a local Phoenix women's crisis center. Total girl power.
Since Perc Up Café has merged the former Drip and Toast space into one, there will be plenty of space to camp out. In addition to offering all the traditional coffee drinks, Perc Up will also be offering fruit smoothies, breakfast wraps all week long and a Sunday brunch featuring homemade english muffins and stuffed french toast.
Soon, waking up on Monday morning will be a little less miserable.
