Heads up, burger-and-beer hounds: Hopdoddy Burger Bar, the Austin-based counter-service eatery from the owners of Roaring Fork and Salty Sow, is opening its doors in Scottsdale tomorrow.
Listed as one of 33 best burgers in the United States by men's digital lifestyle brand Thrillist.com, Hopdoddy has two restaurants in Austin, one in Dallas, and now one at 11055 North Scottsdale Road (just north of Shea Boulevard in a former Lone Star Steakhouse).
Here's what to expect.

Hopdoddy's menu consists of gourmet burgers of Black Angus beef, lamb, sushi-grade tuna, bison, turkey, and veggies layered with signature sauces and toppings such as apple-smoked bacon, beef steak tomatoes, and roasted poblano chiles on one of three types of buns (classic egg, whole wheat, and non-gluten) made in-house daily.
Burger prices run from around $5 to $9.
Also available are salads, sides such as hand-cut Kennebec fries, truffle fries, and green chile queso, and shakes in flavors like caramel and sea salt, raspberry white chocolate, and Nutella and chocolate pretzel.
On the libations side, expect local, small batch draft beers, wine splits, and cocktails such as the Skinny Dip Frozen Margarita, Cerveza Rita, and Black Cherry Hard Lemonade.
Described as a "contemporary and cool dive," Hopdoddy's space will feature concrete floors, steel trusses, and blond butcher block tables.
