It might be slushy/popsicle/ice cream weather yet, but I'm thinking about fresh, warm Italian doughnuts. October can't come soon enough.
That's when The Farm at South Mountain will start its Italian doughnut stand, open every Saturday and Sunday morning.
The Farm's managing partner, Pat Christofolo, has been working on getting the doughnut recipe just right ever since she visited Italy and splurged on the confections earlier this summer.
Cinnamon-sugar-coated doughnuts will be offered three to a bag, with a choice of strawberry preserves, dark chocolate dip, or housemade caramel.
Sounds like they'd be great to nibble on while waiting for a table at Morning Glory Cafe.
