Stop what you're doing and clear you plans for tomorrow morning. Because you're not going to want to miss what's going down this Saturday at Welcome Chicken + Donuts.
For one day only, James Beard Award nominated chef Charleen Badman of FnB restaurant in Scottsdale will be "hacking" the kitchen at the Phoenix restaurant. This latest in the series of Welcome Chicken + Donuts chef collaborations will feature three different types of donuts, and a special flavor of fried chicken.
Here's the menu:
DonutsFilled donut with FnB butterscotch topped with fresh whipped cream and nutmeg
Filled donut with rutabaga puree topped with creme fraiche and ginger glaze
Carrot cake fritter with coconut glaze
Lunch
Green goddess chicken + FnB Giardiniera
Donuts will be available starting at 7 a.m. and chicken will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. There will be a limited amount of both the donuts and chicken, so if you want in on the action, we recommend you get there early.
Badman, nicknamed the "vegetable whisperer," earned a James Beard Award nomination this year in the Best Chef: Southwest category. Her restaurant, FnB, has been recognized by such national publications as Food & Wine.
In the past, Welcome Chicken + Donuts, which opened late last year, has done collaborations with chefs including Jeff Kraus of Crepe Bar in Tempe, Helen Yung of Sweet Republic in Scottsdale, and Lori Hashimoto of Hana in Phoenix.
