Farm to Table, Again.
Okay, I think this is going to be the last time we talk about farm to anything for awhile. Pat Duncan and his farm must be exhausted hosting these dinners twice a week (I know we're a bit tired of talking about them) Don't get us wrong, we love the idea, but let's not over do it.
Moving on, this Sunday, May 29th Cafe Bink will be hosting the next dinner in Pat Duncan's Farm to Table series. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. with passed hors d'oeuvres with dinner to follow at 6 p.m.. The four-course meal is heavy on the veggies with dishes like a tomato cucumber salad with fennel-cured sausage served over red and green scallions, red oak leaf lettuce and topped with chevre, walnuts and a champagne and walnut vinaigrette. For dessert savor chocolate blackberry pound cake with crumbled shortbread and salted maple ice cream. $55 per person, $25 for wine pairings. Seating is limited 480-488-9796 for reservations.

Forget all those ho-hum baked beans, this Memorial Day, class it up with a batch of Beer Braised Beans. Make sure you plan ahead, these suckers have to simmer for at least 6 hours. We replaced the Blue Moon for New Belgium's Mothership Wit and they came out awesome!
