Asi Es La Vida, a longtime favorite for upscale central and southern Mexican cuisine on 24th Street, is under new ownership, and recently got a shiny sign out front bearing its new name as well: La Taza de Oro Bistro.

The carpets in the entryway still say Asi Es La Vida, an inside, it's got the same whimsical, colorful decor as before. And the menu looks pretty much identical -- crema de cilantro soup, cocktel de camaron, slow-roasted cochinita pibil, and crepas for dessert. I've always enjoyed the food here, and hopefully that will continue.

La Taza is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and is located at 3602 N. 24th St. Call 602-952-1255 for more info.
