Nothing says comfort food quite like a delectable piece of warm, flaky pie. And thanks to Proof, the new comfort food restaurant of American classic eats that opened earlier this month in the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, you can have a sweet piece of this homespun goodness nearly any way you'd like.

Want to make one yourself or have a pie-lover on your list in need of a holiday gift? You'll want to check out Proof's Easy as Pie cooking class.

From 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, December 15, Proof's culinary team will host an Easy as Pie class where guests can learn how to make pies and other desserts for the holidays. The cost is $45 per person and includes snacks, a recipe book, and hands-on lessons. Reservations are required for the class. Make them by calling 480-513-5029.

If you'd rather have someone else make your pie, Proof's pastry chef Lance Whipple will be happy to help. He'll be baking flaky creations such as a Jack Daniel's pecan pie, a traditional pumpkin pie, and other desserts guests can order for upcoming holiday celebrations. To order, call 480-513-5088 or visit the restaurant. Items are available for pick up December 23 through the 25. Every order requires 48 hours advance notice.

And, for those who just want to eat pie, Proof's got that covered, too. Guests can stop by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and order up the month's seasonal special (for November, it's apple rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream.). Want a meal beforehand? Look for home-style offerings like fried green tomatoes, shrimp and oyster po'boys, and chicken and waffles with bacon and bourbon syrup.
