Restaurateurs Allen and Traci Thompson have been busy this year.

In March, they opened Chick Rotisserie & Wine Bar in the Arcadia Village shopping center, on the southwest corner of Camelback and 40th Street. This fall, the Thompsons added a second location of their burger spot, The Grind, at 20511 North Hayden Road in the Grayhawk area of North Scottsdale.

And in June, the Thompsons opened their third concept, Mad G's Grill & Tavern, at 19 East Broadway (Broadway and Mill) in Tempe. But less than six months later, the bar and restaurant, which defined itself as "'pub grub' at a higher level," has shuttered.

Mad G's menu, created by The Grind and Chick chef Bevin O'Neil, featured American favorites like wings, Angus beef burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas. And a healthy selection of beers, including a house brew, were not only or drinking -- many were used in the cooking process, too.
