I don't know what it was about this past Christmas, but for some reason, I found it a whole lot easier to get out my checkbook and send some dough to local non-profits than to slog through the list of presents I had to buy. And seriously, right after I read Sarah Fenske's column about the financial struggles of KAET, the local PBS station, I sent in my membership application and a donation.
Tomorrow, February 4, it'll be even easier to give a nod to public TV -- all the Whole Foods stores in town will donate five percent of the day's sales to the station. And if you bring your Friends of Eight card, you'll get a complimentary wine flight between 4 and 7 p.m.
(On a completely unrelated note, did you see that Antiques Roadshow is coming to Phoenix this summer?!)
