Happy Weekend, Chow Bella Friends!

We've all made it through another week of the daily grind. Now it's time to treat ourselves to a weekend filled with delicious food and intoxicating drinks. We're headed to Tempe for a Saturday breakfast special we just can't pass up, then we're making the hike to North Scottsdale for a rare glass of ryewine, and relaxing at home on Sunday with an easy grilled pizza.

Check out what's on our plate.

Eat This: Biscuits and Gravy from Essence Bakery -- Every week we get an e-mail from our favorite Tempe bakery and cafe, Essence, that lays out its specials for the week -- and every once in a while, a dish catches our eye that we just can't live without. This week's Saturday breakfast special is Essence's Biscuits & Gravy with Power Ranch sausage and sauteed mushrooms in thick gravy poured over buttermilk biscuits topped with fried eggs. We can't wait 'til tomorrow, when we can finally take a bite.

Drink This: Bourbon Barrel Aged Rye Wine at Four Peaks Grill & Tap Scottsdale -- We'll totally admit to spending way too much time at Four Peaks Tempe (what can we say? we like their beer and their chicken strips), but this weekend, we're headed north to Four Peaks' other location, in Scottsdale. Why would we do such a thing? Because they just tapped a fresh keg of their sacred barrel aged rye wine. At 9.1 percent ABV, It's not a beer for everyone, but we absolutely love the unique bourbon flavors that mingle with the rich dark rye. It's definitely a sipping beer and just one should have you feeling pretty good. If rich Rye Wine's aren't your style, try the breweries latest seasonal, Summer Session. The extra-light beer has just the slightest citrus notes and one of the cleanest finishes.

Bake This: Grilled Pizza -- It's still hot out, so how about giving the oven a rest and baking homemade pizzas outside on the grill? If you do it properly, the crust will come out crispy on the outside and tender and chewy on the inside. Top your pizza with whatever you'd like, even simple pepperoni, toss it on the grill, and eat!
