Happy Hour at Little Cleo's Today

In honor of National Absinthe Day (which is today, by the way) Little Cleo's Seafood Legend at The Yard in Phoenix is launching a new happy hour that features deals on shellfish, champagne, and, of course, absinthe. The restaurant's new happy hour includes $1 oysters and $1 shrimp, as well as $2 house champagne pours and half off all absinthe and all absinthe cocktails. That deal covers the aptly-named absinthe cocktail Death in the Afternoon made with absinthe, dry sparkling wine, and simple syrup. The restaurant's happy hour will be available Mondays through Saturday form 4 to 5 p.m.

If you've been wanting to learn more about how to grow your own food, then you won't want to miss the Phoenix Grow Your Own Food Summit this Saturday at Phoenix College. A limited number of early bird tickets, which cost $49, may still be available online.

Old Town Whiskey at The Saguaro Hotel Saturday, March 7

If you've been dining and drinking in the Valley for an extended period of time, then you probably remember Old Town Whiskey and Distrito, the restaurant and bar brought to the Saguaro Hotel by Iron Chef Jose Garces. Well, starting this Saturday the two concepts are back for a limited time only -- specifically, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, from 5 to 10 p.m. through Saturday, May 30. The pop-up restaurant and bar will serve old fan-favorites such as deviled eggs and duck fat fries, as well as cocktails including the Old Town Sou and a Philadelphia Fish House Punch. Guitarist Randy Ranes will perform nightly, offering a fusion of European, Latin and jazz music.
