The dining scene at Scottsdale Quarter, the new-ish retail complex across the road from Kierland Commons, has been pretty slow-going, with only two restaurants in the mix: Brio Tuscan Grille and Oakville Grocery.

As of yesterday, though, a new spot called PrimeBar bumps it up to three. Seven additional eateries are in the works, including Eddie V's, Stingray Sushi, and True Food Kitchen.

PrimeBar, a contemporary American "ale house," is the latest outpost of a national chain that has locations in Colorado, Florida, Illionois, and Missouri.

Prime steaks and burgers, "two-handed sandwiches," sliders, salads, and a slew of small plates comprise the eclectic menu, which mixes in Asian, Mexican, and Mediterranean influences. There's everything from yellowfin tuna sashimi to pork tacos to roasted red pepper hummus. Here's the full rundown: PrimeBar menu.pdf

Drinks are a big part of the equation here, too, with wine, craft cocktails, and 20 beers on draft (mostly regional stuff like Big Sky Moose Drool, Prescott Liquid Amber, Stone IPA, and several from Oak Creek and Four Peaks). There are three bars in the 250-seat space.

PrimeBar seeks to be a late-night contender with live music starting at 9:45 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and food service until 1:30 a.m.

The restaurant is located at 15037 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale. Call 480-822-6200 for more info.
