Oktoberfest!
Boys and girls it's the first weekend of October and that means it's time for the annual Tempe Oktoberfest at Tempe Beach Park. Get your fill of bratwurst and sauerkraut or check out Long Wong's special Oktoberfest Pizza. Appease your sweet tooth with German strudel from the Bavarian Bakery or grab a giant turkey leg from Big Belly's BBQ. Then again who needs food when there is a beer garden and more polka music then you can shake your Dirndl's and Lederhosen to. fun for the whole family with plenty of activities for the little ones including carnival rides and the Ducktober Pond. Admission is free. Click here for details.

TASTE
For those of you looking for something a little more sophisticated, Chandler is the place to be. Saturday, October 2nd, TASTE, Chandler's culinary festival will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Historic Downtown Chandler Promenade in Dr. AJ Chandler Park. Sample a wide variety of food from Chandler restaurants while listening to live music from Vandals & Hancock Duo. Tickets for this event are $45 per person for general admission. V.I.P. tickets are also available for $75 per person. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

Beer Cheese Soup
The first day of October calls for a bowl of hearty Beer Cheese Soup regardless of the weather. We are drawn to Feasting on Art's recipe because it includes a recipe for savory cheesy mustard croutons. While everyone else is out getting there Oktoberfest on we'll be getting drunk on soup. (pretty sure you would have to eat a lot of this soup to catch a buzz, but we can try!)
