A round-up of tasty morsels from Valley food blogs.
'Tis the season for giving and sharing and we found two blog posts highlighting giving and sharing.
Rodney Hartwig of Adventures in Cuisine blogged about being one of the contestants for an on-air spicy burger challenge earlier this week. Bueno Burger's "Turn The Heat Up on Childhood Cancer Event" that benefited The Ronan Foundation (4 year old Ronan Thompson passed away this year in May from Neuroblastoma).
Spicing up your life by eating a hotsy totsy burger and spreading the love to kids and families who have it pretty rough - sounds good to us. Hartwig downed The Sneaky Diablo Burger which "is two juicy, mesquite-grilled ground beef patties topped with habanero peppers, ghost chili peppers, onion, pickled jalapenos, black-pepper bacon and smothered with American cheese. The beef is seasoned with a secret spice blend."
Read on to find out how the flamin' hot on-air tasting portion went down...
Here are the Facebook pictures from the event at the Bueno Burger Mex American Grill Scottsdale located at 6977 N. Hayden Road.
Lylah Ledner of The Simple Farm blogged this awesome story: "British town grows all of its own vegetables, witnesses improved civic life and reduced crime as a result."
It almost sounds too idyllic to be true. But it is. Apparently "fresh herbs, succulent greens, and tasty fruits can be found growing near civic buildings, college campuses, supermarket parking lots, and various other places. Small garden plots, raised planting beds, and even small soil strips in these areas can be found brimming with fresh produce, all of which are free to anyone who want it, and at any time."
It's part of Mary Clear's Incredible Edible program. Check out the story and links on The Simple Farm's blog.
