Asian Festival

The food festival season isn't over yet. This weekend the 17th Annual Asian Festival hits the parking lot of Mesa's Mekong Plaza. The Arizona Asian American Association will "recreate" the feel of an authentic Asian street fair with carnival rides, arts and crafts, a children's adventure zone, live performances and plenty of delicious ethnic food. If the festival disappoints, you could always check out UnPhogettable. Get past the name and you will be rewarded with a great bowl of Pho and fresh made spring rolls. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are both free. Visit www.aaaa-az.org for the complete schedule.

SO PRETTY!
Excuse us for getting personal for a second, but we think this cake is the prettiest color (so pretty, a certain blogger really wants her hair to be this color). Seriously, it's a beautiful shade of lavender. That being said, the girl that made this lovely Sweet Potato Cake deemed it to be failure. What?! She must be nuts. Check out the full story at Maameemoomoo's blog here. Then come back and tell us what you think. Is it a fail or not?
