Situated a block off Mill Avenue, (21 E. 6th St., Ste. 114, behind the Brickyard building), the restaurant still has an organic, local focus, and a light, healthful menu of sandwiches and salads. Original owner Austin Vickers has new partners now -- Dee Dee Maza and Nick Buchholz. Founding chef Damon Brasch is no longer involved, however.

The Center Bistro still has a small retail component, offering wine, bread, cheese, meat, and other deli items, as well an airy, urban vibe, with art from Eric Cox of ArtsyCoxy.

Breakfast is simple and light, with pastries, local yogurt and granola, and a breakfast sandwich, plus espresso drinks ( Center Bistro Morning Menu.pdf). The lunch menu features sandwiches (such as roast beef with blue cheese and caramelized beets and onions), salads, and bruschetta ( Center Bistro Lunch Menu.pdf).

Business hours are currently 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and a website -- www.thecenterbistro.com -- should be up sometime this week.
