Peach-picking season started at Schnepf Farms last week, and this weekend, The Farm at Agritopia will launch its own Peach U-Pick event. Over the next few weeks, farms all over the state will start picking peaches, melons, and other summer produce.

The Farm at Agritopia will let guests come pick their own USDA-certified organic peaches on Saturday morning. You'll also be able to pick up the fresh fruit at the Wednesday night and Saturday morning Gilbert Farmers Market.

Peach U-Pick will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Peaches will cost $2.50 per pound. Peaches bought at the Gilbert Farmers Market will be four for $4.

Don't worry; if you can't make it to the farm or the market, The Farm at Agritopia also offers a 24-hour self-service farm stand. The stand operates by the honor system, so you can swing by and pick up fresh, local, organic produce anytime.

Fenway Park Orchards in Morristown -- located about an hour outside Phoenix off U.S. 60 -- also is open for peach picking from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
