Yatai Ramen Saturday, February 1
This weekend the Valley's first ramen food truck will hit the streets, making its offical debut at Scottsdale Food Truck Caravan on Saturday night. Yatai will join the Grilled Cheese Truck, Queso Good, 180Q, Torched Goodness and Udder Delights at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and Goldwater from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Yatai will serve classic tonkatsu, or pork bone broth, ramen as well as a premium miso ramen. Other menu items will include gyoza and pork katsu curry.
Coney Dog Eating Contest Saturday, February 1
If you're looking for the best Motor City Coney Dogs in the Valley, you'll find them at Detroit Coney Grill in Tempe. The small restaurant opened last year and serves Detroit Coneys, Detroit Looseburgers, and other road food of the Motor City. This Saturday the restaurant's owner David Najor is hosting a Coney Dog Eating Contest, where challengers will have 10 minutes to down as many dogs and they can. That means with chilli, mustard, and onions on top. No exceptions. The winner of the first ever contest will get his or her photo on the Wall of Fame, as well as a personalized "Champ" shirt. Roaring Fork Sunday, February 2
If you'll be dining out this Sunday, you can cash in on a sweet Super Bowl special at Roaring Fork in Scottsdale. The restaurant, known for its green chile pork stew and Big Ass burgers, will be offering one free entree with the purchase of another entree, in other words, buy one and you'll get the second free.
American TapHouse Sunday, February 2
Lucky Chandler residents that live within three miles of American TapHouse, the recently opened neighborhood bar and grill, can get beer, wine, and food delivered right to their doorstep for free. In celebration of the Super Bowl the restaurant is also offering a special deal: diners can have one large two topping pizza, a dozen wings, and a 64-ounce growler of beer delivered for $24.99.
