A recent survey by Placed Insights, a location analytics company, detailed the eating habits of Americans and what they found is more than a little disturbing: We eat a lot of fast food. In fact, six of the 10 most-visited businesses in America during April 2013 were quick-service or fast-food restaurants.
Buzzfeed broke out the survey data to determine just how much fast food these chains are selling every single second. It's worth a view.
To satisfy your burning curiousity the answer is 17. McDonald's, the most-visited business in America as of April, sells 17 Big Macs and seven happy meals every second. Taco Bell sells 13 Doritos Locos Tacos every second, meaning they've sold half a billion since launching them last year. It's pretty gross if you think about it.

According to the survey the most visited U.S. businesses in April were: (in order from most to least visited)
- Burger King
- Taco Bell
In the West, the second most popular quick-service chain was Starbucks (we do love our coffee) followed by Subway, Burger King, and Taco Bell. And in case you're wondering whether people are at least making healthier selection when frequenting fast food chains, the answer is no. McDonald's recently admitted that salads make up only 2 percent to 3 percent of its sales. And experts have said that many companies see health menu options as marketing tools to make the company seem "okay" but don't actually expect customers to eat the better options.
