The published poet will be reading with one of his favorite poets (Bakeem Lloyd) at Urban Beans on Friday, December 17th for the Phoenix Poetry Series.

What'd you eat for dinner last night? Carly's Europa panini, while listening to the smooth sounds of The Doug Bale Experience.

Favorite food: Indian Food. The Palak Paneer kind, not the Maize kind.

Least favorite food: I'm not into swine, but it has nothing to do with Madonna's defection to Kabbalah.

Favorite dessert: I love chocolate, and I especially appreciate some of the local chocalatiers who have the foresight to combine it with ingredients like cinnamon and cayenne.

Favorite local restaurant and meal to order there: Shogun, across
the street from PV Mall. The Chicken Katsu and Godzilla Tails are
great, but I have to admit that my favorite part is probably the
delicious sunomono salad that's served on the side.

Favorite local bar and cocktail to order there: I prefer tea to alcohol, so I can be found at Souvia, stocking up on loose leaf bags of Georgia Peach, Apricot Black and Strawberry Fields.

Favorite thing to cook at home: Stir fry, because it's a convenient way to use whatever vegetables are lying around, and you can add some of those Thai peppers to clear your sinuses during allergy season.

Favorite memory involving food: Going to Casa Bonita, when I was a little boy in Denver. It's a poor imitation of Mexican food, but I was easily impressed by sitting at a table next to a giant waterfall with cliff-divers.

Recipe or food tip to share: After visiting family in Hawaii, coconut oil has become a favorite ingredient in our house. My wife cooks pancakes and French Toast with it, and it's a great way to add a taste of Maui to any breakfast.
