50: Cheddar Jalapeño Biscuits and Sausage Gravy from Over Easy

No surprise that Over Easy, celebu-chef Aaron May's breakfast and lunch joint with locations in Arcadia and North Scottsdale, serves up some crazy good (and interesting) eats. Last year, the restaurant's waffle dogs (waffles on a stick) were featured on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate.

One of our favorites with a twist? The cheddar jalapeño biscuits and sausage gravy. This ain't granny's biscuits and gravy, this is granny's biscuits and gravy with a swift kick in the ass.

Two, halved, moist, home made biscuits baked with cheese and flecks of jalapeño are covered in not-too-thick sausage gravy and topped with a single piece of larger pork goodness.

The flavor is baked cheesy goodness with hints of heat and seasoned meat in a surprisingly on-the-light-side sausage gravy. Overall, an enjoyable twist on a classic breakfast item.
