It's an interesting use of the quote, especially since we can't imagine ol' Ben Franklin liking the taste or effects of modern energy drinks -- even if Relentless is one of the better brands we've tried.

The "Fire" flavor is very potent and super sweet -- imagine drinking melted orange popsicles or carbonated orange Kool-Aid. We didn't find the flavor too overpowering, but we've always had a sweet tooth. Our drink was cold, too, which makes a difference. Relentless probably doesn't taste very good warm.

Caffeine content in Relentless is pretty high -- 197 mg per 16-ounce can (that's almost three times the amount of caffeine in a Red Bull), and the caffeine reportedly comes from "green coffee beans." As per most energy drinks, Relentless also contains a wallop of B Vitamins and Taurine.

The amount of Taurine in Relentless -- 1,888 mg per 16-ounce can -- is one of th highest amounts we've seen in energy drink, and probably not that necessary considering all the caffeine in there.

Nevertheless, Relentless does the trick as far as a pick-me-up and keep-me-going carbonated concoction.
