Fall is ushering all kinds of cozy new food at Tuck Shop, the Coronado District restaurant that's transformed the corner of 12th Street and Oak into a popular CenPho dinner destination.
Some of owner DJ Fernandes' favorite new dishes are oyster po'boy popovers, pork t-bone with squash gnocchi, and oxtail stew hot pockets. I'm personally ready to order up a dish of that Manila clam, white bean, and chorizo etouffee with basmati rice, as well as some parsnip and potato fries, served up poutine-style, with gruyere cheese and mushroom gravy.
Old favorites like the chorizo-stuffed dates and the spiced skirt steak are still part of the rotation, too.
