Just when you thought all of the Cronut buzz had finally worn off, celeb baker Dominique Ansel releases an at-home recipe for his iconic hybrid pastry. That's right, now you can whip up Cronuts kind of sort of just like they do at the Dominique Ansel Bakery, though you should be warned that the difficulty level is marked "extreme." Are you up for the challenge?
To promote the release of his new cookbook Dominique Ansel: Secret Recipes on October 28, the whimsical New York baker went on Good Morning America and shared a version of his Cronut recipe that can be made at home in just three short days.
According to Yahoo News, the at-home recipe took Ansel nearly four months of tweaking to produce consistent results. The article explains that the trademarked brand's original recipe differs in both ingredients and techniques from the released version of the Cronut recipe. This is supposedly due to the fact that the specific ingredients and tools used down to the flour just aren't readily available for home cooks.
