After seven years in business, Old Town Scottsdale comfort food favorite Fusion has closed its doors.

Owner Matt Long says he decided to quietly close in early July, blaming the opening of the W Scottsdale -- and with it, fewer area parking spaces -- for a decline in business. People don't want to walk two blocks to the restaurant in the summer heat, he says.

"We waited three years while they built the hotel, and now it's actually worse," adds Long. "We were better off with a dirt lot across the street."

Long and his wife JenLyn are focusing their energies on their other restaurant, ten-month-old Daily Dose, although he says he might bring back Fusion someday in a better location.
