Jade Bar Today
There's a lot of good stuff going on at the newly renovated Jade Bar of Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain. The lounge offers stunning views of the surrounding area for one, as well as a pretty impressive cocktail program courtesy of master mixologist Ryan Margarian. Their specialty cocktails will usually set you back $10 or so, but on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. you can participate in Slip & Slide, which offers a $6 Pour of the Week and $2 beef sliders (minimum two). ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho Today
Tonight ZuZu at the Hotel Valley Ho will feature wines from one of Napa Valley's most iconic winerys, Trefethen Family Vineyards. The estate dates back to 1886 and is still one of Napa's largest estate wineries with 600 acres of vineyards surrounding it. ZuZu will offer a four-course dinner paired with various Trefethen wines including Napa Valley Dry Riesling "Oak Knoll District" 2013, Napa Valley Chardonnay "Oak Knoll District" 2012, and Napa Valley Double T Red Wine 2011. The menu includes Chilled Shrimp & Noodle Salad, Grilled Venison Loin, and Valrhona Chocolate Mousse and Crisp Phyllo. Bootleggers Tuesday, May 20
This Tuesday Bootleggers Modern American Smokehouse in Phoenix will host a beer paired dinner featuring Oskar Blues Brewing out of Colorado. The dinner includes four courses including dishes that incorporate the brews into the food -- think, scallops caramelized with Mama's Little Yellow Pils, a smoked Cheddar & Dale's Pale Ale fondue, and Jack Daniels-spiked brownie topped with Old Chub Nitro ice cream. Liberty Market Tuesday, May 20
Every month Liberty Market in Gilbert hosts a Community Dinner that showcases the culinary talents of the restaurant and offers diners a fun, festival atmosphere. This month the restaurant will be offering a French-inspired menu paired with wines from Hedges Family Estate's wines from Washington. The menu will include beef tartare with cornichon, capers, fresh herbs, duck eggs and French baguette; foie gras torchon with champagne gelee and housemade brioche; and escargot in puff pastry with garlic butter and watercress. The dinner costs $95 a person and reservations are required. Seating limited to 24 guests. Sign up is at Liberty Market in the E61 Espresso Bar.
The Saguaro Thursday, May 22
If you like drinking and working out then you're bound to love The Saguaro's Work Out. Wine Down event. Every Thursday this month the hotel is offering a free workout and this week you can join in on an hour-long TRX Session from Simplicity Fitness. The class begins at 6 p.m. and includes functional movement, strength and endurance work both on and off the TRX Suspension. The workout will be followed by drink specials, pool access and giveaways.
