Dick Van Dyke to Host SNL?
Well, maybe. Facebook fans made their wish for Betty White to host SNL a reality on May 8, 2010 and now a local resident is rallying for Dick Van Dyke to take the stage.
The local resident? Stacy Van Dyke, Dick's daughter.
"I got the idea after Betty White hosted SNL," Stacy says. "I asked my dad why he had never hosted and he said, 'They never asked me.'" Stacy assures that her dad would love to host the popular show.

Dick Van Dyke started his career in the 1940s as a radio DJ. He caught his big break (and a Tony award) when he joined the cast of Bye-Bye Birdie in 1960. His career includes unforgettable movies like Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; as well as television shows The Dick Van Dyke Show (for which he snagged four Emmys) and Diagnosis Murder.
These days the 84-year-old entertainer stays active by singing with a barbershop quartet and he recently made an appearance at Ford Theatre during a 4th of July Celebration with President Obama. (Here, a photographer captured the prez fixing Dick's bowtie).
So far, the page (which was set up by his grandson, Ryan Breen of Back Ted N-Ted) has barely tipped 600 fans. It took several hundred thousand Facebookers to convince NBC to let Betty White host.
