Calling all artists: Scottsdale Public Arts has once again partnered with City of Tempe Public Art and City of Chandler Public Art Program to bring back the second installment of the public arts project, platFORM, and they're looking for a new batch of artists to make that happen.

The platFORM project allows artists to mount and place original sculptures onto metal pedestals or platforms in public sites throughout Tempe, Chandler, and Scottsdale, including the Hayden Flour Mill, public corridors along southern stretch of Scottsdale Road, and Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in downtown Chandler.

Since these works will be on display outdoors for roughly one year beginning in September of 2014, all proposed works must be suitable for Arizona climate conditions. Projects will be given a variable budget ranging between $2,000 and $3,000.

This call to artists is open to any students currently enrolled in an arts program at a university, private college, or community college in the state of Arizona. Applicants can submit their project proposals either as individuals or as teams. If they do choose to apply as a team, then they must designate one member as a point of contact.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 25. All submissions must include a resume, digital images, an image list, a letter of reference from a current instructor or professor, and a proposal narrative. Selected applicants will be notified via e-mail the week of May 5. For more information or to apply, visit scottsdalepublicart.org.
