One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

In 2010, Tucson-based photographer Camden Hardy posed a question on his blog: Was there was still a desire among artists to share their work in the form of tangible objects?

The response was overwhelming.

Within a few days, Hardy had countless applications for what became The Postcard Collective, a long-term collaborative project in which a network of artists share their artwork in the form of postcards that are exchanged every three months.

A year later, the project has a board of directors, including local photographer Aimee León (whose postcard is pictured above), and a nationwide network of artists who continue to exchange work in a variety of media -- all through snail mail.

The Postcard Collective is currently looking for 15 new artists to participate in the Fall 2011 exchange with 15 of its active members.

To enter, send an email to submissions@postcardcollective.org, using "Fall 2011 submission" in the subject line with a link to your artwork and a paragraph about your interest in participating in the exchange. Submissions will be accepted until August 31.

For more information, see the Postcard Collective website.
