Just because the temperature's rising doesn't mean your art career can't rise with it. Rather than let your art supplies melt and separate in the garage this summer, Practical Art is encouraging local artists to put their tools and talents to good use by entering work into the third annual exhibition "Heat."

On Monday, Practical Art issued a call to artists for "Heat III," set to be on display throughout July. This juried show is open to all Arizona artists. Pieces will be selected by a panel of community creatives, including Kirstin Van Cleef, Adriene Jenik, Chris Kontakis, Jessica Rajko, and Audrey Thacker.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, May 15. Interested exhibitors can submit up to five JPEG images with the title, medium, price, and dimensions of the framed work attached. All artists should submit their works plus a statement and bio to [email protected].
Selected artists will be notified by Friday, May 31, and expected to have their original works ready to hang at the gallery by Monday, June 31.
