Since there's really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week Jackalope Ranch brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe. This week: The Cantarita at Astor House.
If you still haven't checked out Astor House (DJ Fernandes' newest restaurant), we have just found yet another compelling reason to do so.
Located right next door to its older sibling, the Tuck Shop, Astor house is a cute Coronado eatery, perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner noshes.
But what's really caught our taste buds now is their ever-changing, daily signature cocktail, concocted from the creative pallet of Astor House bartender, Blaise Fabar.
Last night Blaise whipped up a batch of tangy cantaritas, pairing tequila, simple syrup, and soda with an assortment of fresh squeezed juices, including lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit. The result was a citrusy hybrid of an Orangina and a margarita (in other words, delicious).
Since there's no telling when the cantarita will make its next appearance at Astor House, we've got the recipe for you to try it out at home.
And keep in mind, if you enjoy a good cocktail as much as you do surprises, you may want to put an evening trip to Astor House on your To-Do List (and if you don't like surprises, you can follow them on twitter).
