D'Amore Productions' Wonderful, Wicked, Wacky Women stars Dolores D'Amore Goldsmith, who's delighted audiences with productions like Why Is My Glass Half Empty, When My Plate Is Too Full? Goldsmith tells women's true stories in an uplifting fashion, and her own encounters, along with tales of historical chicks, make for an artisanal salad of entertainment.

Game Night @ GameCoLab If you're not reading this while putting off your latest Words With Friends move, you're probably at least daydreaming about upping your Candy Crush Saga score or fantasizing about using Batgirl to pummel Aquaman in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Whatever your prefered flavor of video game obsession, Game CoLab's Game Night powers up on June 3.
Game CoLab is the newly minted home for Valley game developers ready to team up and set the world on fire. Appropriately, the headquarters are located in a polished up industrial building that feels like it could house a miniboss or two. Every Tuesday evening, the Lab opens its doors to anyone with a yen to bring their favorite titles and fire up alongside other connoisseurs.

"Poetic Topography" @ The Hive Calle 16's The Hive has become such a staple in the Phoenix art scene that on any given Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you can pretty much count on finding some cool eye candy. The gallery, studio, and now coffee shop hybrid serves as a multifunctional space for working artists, exhibitions, films, lectures, and the casual cup of Joe.
This month's featured artists are no strangers to the local scene nor to the colorful building itself. At "Poetic Topography," visitors can study the romantic surfaces in works by Benji Sakoia, who christened the building's exterior early on with his notable bee mural, and enjoy the creative talents of Ashley Macias, whose paintings welcome open interpretation and emotional exploration.

"Basics of Sewing" @ Frances Local boutique Frances, a favorite of fashion lovers and craft seekers alike, continues its monthly workshop series this week with a "Basics of Sewing" tutorial. Under the instruction of local artist Karyn Miracle, whose Etsy shop is filled with hand-stitched, repurposed vintage items like bags and pillows, students will beautify individual pocket mirrors. The class tackles the fundamentals of embroidery such as cross-stitch, chain stitch, and stem stitch - and it's sure to have you sewing like a Singer.
Materials for the project, from fabric to thread, will be provided. The class caps out at 10 people, and reservations are required.

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson @ Phoenix Theatre If you could have dinner with anyone -- well, he's probably either dead or imaginary. (We get that. We dined with a real, live person yesterday.) Some of our most popular dead people are presidents, and not just folding green ones. Abraham Lincoln is timeless, and nobody can shut up about the Founding Fathers for five founding minutes.
Into this climate of Chief-hailing nostalgia comes Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, a rock musical about the so-sexy seventh POTUS. A nightmare for anyone British or Native American, Jackson's the reason we have Florida and the Democratic Party. The tall, skinny ginger knew how to throw a real rager and had enough skeletons in his tiny 18th-century closets that nobody had to make up rumors.
The hotly anticipated BBAJ is directed by Ron May, who's made his bones inserting killer production numbers into plays that aren't even musicals.
