Architecture and design fans, this is your week.
Modern Phoenix Week is in full gear and, tonight, a panel of local architects will share their work for a live audience at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

In partnership with Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, architects including Page Repp, AIA, Repp Design & Construction; James Richärd, AIA, Richärd + Bauer; Mark Ryan, AIA, Mark Ryan Studio and Matthew and Maria Salenger, AIA CoLAB, will present their work in "Slide Slam" style.
Each architect will have a limited amount of time and slides (think Pechakucha, Ignite, or TED) and will take questions from the audience.
The presentations are free and open to the public, though organizers note that seating is limited. The Slide Slam kicks off at 7 p.m. in Stage 2 Theater.
Upcoming Modern Phoenix Week events include a talk on Modern Ranch Makeovers with Cavin Costello and Claire Aton of The Ranch Mine at Copenhagen Imports in Central Phoenix on April 17, a celebration of the Formica® Brand at Union Workspace in Phoenix on Thursday, April 18, and a tour of the Superlite Block Factory with Tazmine Loomans on Friday, April 19.
The Modern Phoenix Expo will take over Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with goods from local artists and creatives, as well as lectures and tours. For more info, check out the Modern Phoenix Week website.
