With summer and its blockbusters behind us, here are five films worth heading to the theater to see this month.
Kill Your Darlings Sex, intrigue, Beat poets, Harry Potter -- Kill Your Darlings just happens to contain some of our all-time favorite things. Director John Krokidas brings to the cinema the very juicy story of the cool, rich, and by many accounts genius kid Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), who's BFF to Daniel Radcliffe's Allen Ginsberg and Jack Huston's Jack Kerouac, and the 1944 murder of his admirer/stalker David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall).

The film opens Friday, November 8, at Harkins Camelview 5 in Scottsdale.
The Hunger Games Double Feature Whether you need a Hunger Games refresher, have oodles of time on your hands, or (for shame) have never seen the first installment of Katniss badassery, Harkins and AMC will screen The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire back-to-back. The double feature begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at various Harkins and AMC locations across the Valley.
If you can't bear to wait until the official release date, Harkins is giving away two passes to the Los Angeles world première of Catching Fire on November 18. Enter the contest through www.facebook.com/harkinstheatres by 11:59 a.m. PST Friday, November 8. The winner will be notified the following day and also receive a $1,000 Visa gift card.
Predator @ Pollack Tempe Cinemas Before Arnold Schwarzenegger held public office and yelled at Phil Hartman about cookies, dude was all about being totally buff and hunting extraterrestrial baddies. Don't buy it? For proof, Cult Classics presents exhibit A: Predator, in which the Austrian Oak seeks out said aliens with the help of (who else?) Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura.

Clueless @ FilmBar As if we could resist watching Amy Heckerling's Clueless for the bazillionth time. Throughout November, FilmBar is revisiting the time of Tamagotchi, pagers, and MTV having to do with music with its 90sVember throwback screenings. The indie theater will present Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) and company, working their way through teenage, Jane Austen-inspired high school high jinks, at at 10 p.m. Saturday, November 23, complete with '90s-style makeovers (we're guessing that means glitter and sad brown lipstick).
Doctor Who The Day of the Doctor in 3D Feliz Day of the Doctor, Whovians. In celebration of the longest running sci-fi show's 50th anniversary, BBC America and Fathom Events have a present for you. They'll screen a 75-minute Dr. special, fittingly named The Day of the Doctor, in 3D. The program stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper, and John Hurt, and the one-night-only screening of it includes behind-the-scenes material.
Don't be TARDIS for the party at various AMC locations at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 25. Tickets are $15 for adults.
