Collectors of pop culture memorabilia face many challenges. Finding a toy that was new in 1983 and doesn't look like a pack of dogs chewed on it for 28 years can be hard enough, but getting it at a good price is another matter.
Re-selling memorabilia seems like yet another monumental task, as collectors have to find each other before the haggling can even start.

Enter Arizona Collector's Marketplace, which promises a large selection of comics, toys, video games, sports cards, Hot Wheels, MMA and wrestling items, movie posters and memorabilia, and Star Wars and Star Trek items, to name a few.
Though vendor tables and booths for August 27 are sold out, the marketplace is looking for vendors for future events. Six-foot tables are available for $35, and items on the marketplace's "want" list include Legos, old comics, and Transformers.
Several local costuming groups, including the Arizona Avengers and the Justice League of Arizona, have been invited out to the event, but any official appearances have not been confirmed. In the future, Arizona Collector's Marketplace would like to host signings with a variety of guests, including stars from the world of comic books, classic television and movies, and sports.
Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for sellers and collectors. Sellers get to put their wares in front of people who actually want to buy them, and collectors get to hunt for a complete set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. The Arizona Collector's Marketplace doesn't sound all that different from the vendor room at Phoenix Comicon, where we imagine they'll have a booth next year. Go geeks!
