Co-owned by Brandi Kvetko and Chris Swanberg, Jackalope opened in February 2013 on Grand between Trunk Space at Bikini Lounge. It was formerly known as Go-Kat-Go and located on the Melrose Curve.
The kitschy vintage shop posted this message to its Facebook page around 11:30 a.m.:
Sad but true. We're closing at the end of the month. Please come down and see us this weekend! We're blowing it out for First Friday and hope to see all of our friends & fans before we shutter the doors for good at month's end. Please come help us go out with a bang!
In comments following the post, JTR noted that it will continue operation of its Etsy storefront and that management is "pretty bummed" to close up its brick-and-mortar counterpart.
