The benefit will have a number of local DJs, including Djentrification, and
musical guests, as well as a raffle with prize gift
certificates and art donated by Lalo Cota, El Mac, Breeze, Hugo Medina
and Paul Jones. A recording session with Jalipaz of Audioconfusion will also be auctioned off that night to a lucky highest bidder.
Event organizer, Djentrification, says that the benefit is "first and foremost to raise funds
for help and relief in Japan," but also says he hopes the event will be a chance for the community to get together and help another community in need.
"The goal is to have a sort and sweet benefit show that helps out... [I'm] not trying to have another endlessly long benefit show that's overpriced or exclusive."
The $5 entry fee goes to benefit The Japanese Red Cross and Save the Children, but guests will not be turned away if they can't donate.
Firehouse is located at 1015 N 1st street, just north of Roosevelt. The benefit starts at 6pm and runs until 10pm. Admission is a suggested donation of $5.
