Instead of using paper this year, check out a few thrift stores and yard sales for artsy scarves, which can serve as both the wrap and the bow.

Learn how to use vintage scarves as wrapping paper after the jump.

MATERIALS:
Vintage or previously owned Scarves

METHOD:
1. Ready your gift - it does not have to be in a gift box a loose gift works too.

2. Lay the gift on top of the stretched out scarf.

3. Pull the sides of the scarf up and gather them at the top.

4. Pull the loose ends into the area where you want to close the gift.
5. Take another scarf and fold it in half to make a triangle.

6. Then keep folding it on to itself until you have a long, ribbon like piece of fabric.

7. Wrap this second scarf around the closing area of the gift. Tie in a knot and then a bow if long enough.

Give your gift with pride and pleasure! Congrats you thrifty gifter!

NOTE: If your gift is larger than a standard scarf, get out your sewing machine and sew several scarves together to make a larger square or rectangle.
