Now Sufjan Stevens has gone in another direction with his new album The Age of Adz, Christian rock fans are realizing they set bar a little too high for Sufjan Stevens. He's done with the concept album project of making a record about every state in the US, sadly. While his new material is appealing, some folks may be disappointed since those state albums were hailed as among the best of the decade.

Gorillaz got a little more serious on their latest album, Plastic Beach. They've got a constantly expanding, and very impressive list of collaborators, and they've proved that changing their tone wasn't necessarily a bad thing at all. Meanwhile, Built To Spill is back in control, headlining a fall tour after opening for Kings of Leon all summer.

Plus we've got show previews for Trashcan Sinatras, Bret Michaels, Foxy Shazam, Gospel Claws, Jonsi, Ra Ra Riot, and the Deftones.
