Former Phoenix resident Ron Babcock, who often performed with friend and comedy sidekick and one-time Phoencian Ryan McKee, will ditch LA and return to Phoenix Saturday, June. 6
with a slew of LA comedians for the Modest Proposal comedy show at Modified Arts.

Babcock and McKee founded the now-defunct Modest Proposal Magazine, an independent comedy magazine, that printed its sixth and final issue in April 2006 and often performed as a duo around the Valley. The twosome appeared on a Tempe audition of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" a couple of years ago.

The comedy showcase, which used to take place monthly at the now-closed Paper Art Gallery, has found a new home at Modified. The shows will continue on a monthly basis the first Saturday of every month.

LA and Phoenix comics such as Robert Yasumura, Paul Jay, Dan Dominguez and Tara Munson will join Babcock on stage during Modified's kick-off Modest Proposal night. The laughs begin at 9 p.m. and cover is $5.
