If you're a fan of progressive rock band A Life of Science, get ready to experience the band in comic book form as the band releases The Apneist, a comic that supplements their debut album of the same name.

The ambitious band also has plans to make a film to go along with the music and book, which follow a man named Jon, who lives in an apocalyptic world he created.

The book was written by vocalist/bassist Jim Keenan, who says the state of today's world inspired him in his writing.

"The trouble times of today influenced me," Keenan says. "It's obvious to me that the world can't last forever, especially with all the wars going on. That to me has always been fascinating. There's numerous speculations to the end of the world, and we wanted to give our own spin on it."

The band's already pimped out the book at the recent Baltimore Comic-Con, and if it's not enough reading material for you, the album comes with a 28-page booklet full of art and lyrics, too.

"It's the biggest thing I've ever been involved with," Keenan says. "It's really been my life for the last 3 years."

Hear their music this Friday, November 6, when the band performs at Martini Ranch with fellow Sundawg Records artist The Wiley One. A Life of Science will also be on-hand Wednesday, November 11, at Pop Culture Paradise comics to promote the book. For more info, check out www.myspace.com/alifeofscience.
