Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin make their return to P-Town since rocking the Martini Ranch more than 18 months ago in March 2006. The indie rock/darkwave duo is gonna be hitting cities all across the nation in support of their sophomore album This Is Forever, which will available in stores on October 9.

This all-female cutie pie rock foursome is getting to release its seventh album Bitchin’ this fall, and apparently aren’t shy about their love for the John Bush era of Anthrax, since The Donnas’ name on the CD’s cover art greatly resembles the logo for the ‘80s hair metal band.
Random band fact: The Donnas was originally known as “The Electrocutes.”

Even though some local folks hate hometown homeboys Job for a Cowboy (they’ve been dubbed “Handjob for a Cowboy” over on the infamous AZPunk message board), we still dig their unforgiving deathcore sound and Cookie Monster vocals.

Apparently Bam didn’t get all of the talent in the Margera family since his bro Jess serves as the drummer for the rockers CKY, which is affiliated with Bam’s skateboard stunt group CKY (a.k.a. Camp Kill Yourself). The music group is a part of the touring festival Viva La Bands, which is similar to the CD comp of the same name in that it features Bam Margera’s favorite groups. Nepotism rules!
Random band fact: CKY’s 1999 album Volume 1 originally featured a photo of infamous politician Budd Dwyer committing suicide, but label Volcom Entertainment nixed the pic.

Captured! By Robots Thursday, November 29, 9 p.m. Rhythm Room in Phoenix Tickets are $10 (call venue for on sale info)
Gimmicky shtick bands are kinda hit and miss. What can be amusing at first can easily become annoying fairly quickly (see: Insane Clown Posse; and Cheese, Richard). So far, Captured! By Robots has managed to buck this trend and continues to be entertaining. The band’s backstory is as follows: A young musician wanted to start a band made completely of robots, so he built GTRBOT666, DRMBOT 0110, et cetera. His automatons became self-aware, disemboweled and enslaved him, and forced him to be the lead singer. Guess he never rented The Terminator.
Random band fact: JBOT is also known as Jay Vance, one-time bassist for former NoCal ska outfit Skankin’ Pickle.

When we heard a rumor earlier this week that Bryan Adams had kicked the bucket we were ecstatic, ‘cause he sucks…hard (“Everything I doooooo…”). Turns out after all it wasn’t the Canadian rock singer who died, but rather the former professional wrestler Brian Adams, who used to hang with Demolition back in the old WWF. We’re probably losing cool points by mentioning Bryan’s upcoming concert at Dodge Theatre, but, hey, it gave us a chance to publicly state how much we hate him (did we mention he sucks?). At least George Thorogoood and the Destroyers are gonna share the bill
Random band fact: Bryan Adams is a vegan and also speaks French.
