Somebody accused me in one of my recent American Idol posts of writing something with a homophobic bent to pretty-obviously gay also-ran Ricky Braddy. Now, I've been accused of a lot of things in my life, but I pity the foo' who accuses me of not loving the gays. If I hated my homosexual homies, would I be promoting the Rebel Yell Festival, an LGBT-friendly, free event taking place in downtown Phoenix along the 5th Street galleries and shops this Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.? Would I tell you that Angie Evans, Hooves, and Dry River Yacht Club will be among the many bands there waiting to rock your faces off? And that you can try your hand at winning the X-box Garage Band or open mic competitions? WOULD I??? I didn't think so. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some episodes of Queer As Folk and The L Word to catch up on.
