While looking at this flier is similar to viewing artwork at an exhibition in itself, the show it's previewing will also be chock full of beautiful pieces for you to peruse.

That's because when local fusion band Leaf takes the stage at the Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center in Phoenix Friday, April 30, there will also be a silent art auction going down to benefit Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

"From the beginning, Leaf has always donated their time and talent for worthwhile causes in Arizona, and Friday will be no different," says vocalist/bassist Ixchel del Castillo. "This would be more like an 'unplugged' show, so some of the songs will have a different arrangement and will showcase even more the nuances of the violin and the rest of the instruments. We are also adding a jarana--a cool 10-string instrument from Veracruz, Mexico."

Leaf will be playing a special acoustic set, and just as fitting as the art-covered walls is that Leaf's songs contain both Spanish and English lyrics, so you can brush up on your Español as you're listening.

There's a suggested $10 donation to attend the show, which goes from 7:30-9 p.m. For more information, check out www.leafoutloud.com.
